The ARENA Program (Amateur Radio Emergency Newsroom Alliance) represents the efforts of Global Press Journalist, Maria Arce. María was accepted into the prestigious University of Michigan Knight-Wallace Journalism Fellowship Program (2023). Her goal is to effectively use amateur radio at improving communications between the newsroom and the public, on the island of Puerto Rico, following natural disasters. W8UM is a cooperating partner is her efforts.
